Dennis W. Aud

Dennis Aud is a 1980 graduate of Oakland City College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry. He was graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1992 with a Master of Divinity degree, with an emphasis in pastoral ministry. Since that time, he has done post-graduate work at Northwestern University and Duke Divinity School. He has been ordained to Christian ministry since 1973.

Dennis writes, "April 25th has been a red-letter day in my life for a long time. On April 25, 1965, as a 9 year old boy, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord. I was very serious about determining what God wanted out of my life, so I tried to listen very closely to what He might have to say. In 1971, God called me to ministry. As a high school freshman, I began to pray and talk to others about what I sensed was God's call on my life. I entered ministry and soon began pastoring a small country church with about 15 in attendance. I was a senior in high school. The nearest one to me in age was probably 60. How I loved them and how they loved me! That was over 35 years ago.

Since those early years of ministry, Karen and I have been married 34 years. Our three children have grown and two of them married. We’ve now have three grandsons and find so much joy in helping raise them! Time sure flies when you’re having fun!

For many years, I had felt God’s nudging to plant a church and my interest heightened since moving to Columbus in 1999 and noticing there were relatively few churches on the west side of town. The need was obvious. On April 25, (my red-letter day) of 2003, Karen and I first started the journey of planting a church in Columbus, Indiana. What an incredible journey it has been…. And continues to be!

"I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And said I, "Here am. Send me!"
